PBAC's latest decision on Amino acid synthetic formula supplemented with long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids: Recommended with restriction (2023). Considered for Treatment of cows' milk anaphylaxis, severe cows' milk protein enteropathy with failure to thrive, combined intolerance to cows' milk protein, soy protein and protein hydrolysate formulae, cows' milk protein enteropathy, proven combined immunoglobulin E (IgE) mediated allergy to cows' milk protein and soy protein, and severe intestinal malabsorption including short bowel syndrome.

Eligible population

Infants and children requiring amino acid-based formula due to cows' milk protein allergy, severe enteropathy, or severe intestinal malabsorption.
