The PBAC noted that in the optional titration trials, two of the three comparisons (Dang 2006, Fogari 2001) show no statistically significant differences between treatments in diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and one (Oparil 1998) showed a statistically significant difference, with irbesartan producing larger reduction in diastolic blood pressure than losartan. However, there was no statistically significant difference in systolic blood pressure (SBP) in any of these three trials. PBAC · 2010
