PBAC's latest decision on Amlodipine besylate with atorvastatin calcium: Recommended with restriction (2006). Considered for For use in patients who have hypertension and/or angina and who meet the criteria set out in the General Statement for Lipid-Lowering Drugs, and: (a) who are currently receiving treatment with a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker; OR (b) whose blood pressure and/or angina is inadequately controlled with other classes of antihypertensive and/or anti-anginal agent, and in whom adjunctive therapy with a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker would be appropriate; OR (c) who are intolerant of the side effects of other classes of antihypertensive and/or anti-anginal agent, and in whom replacement therapy with a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker would be appropriate.
